How it works
Five stops between the first call and the final order
Most family matters move through the same few stops. Here is what each one asks of you.
- 01
Step 1: You call or write
A few words is plenty. Someone gets back to you within one business day, at a time and number that are safe for you.
- 02
Step 2: A first meeting, about an hour
We go through what happened, what you want, and what the court is likely to do. You leave with a short list of next steps.
- 03
Step 3: A written plan
If you decide to hire Rosalie, you get the steps, the papers needed and a fee agreement to take home and read.
- 04
Step 4: Nothing is filed until you have read it
Every paper that goes to the court comes to you first, with time to ask about each line.
- 05
Step 5: Hearings and the final order
You are prepared before each hearing, and you receive a copy of every order the day it is signed.
Costs
How the fee is explained
Before you sign anything, I put the fee in writing: whether I am paid by the hour from a retainer or a set amount for a defined piece of work, what the court charges separately, and what could make the total change.
If the cost is the reason you haven't called, say so on the first call. I will tell you what I can do and, if I can't, who else may be able to help.
The first step is only a phone call
Tell Rosalie what is going on, and she will tell you what comes next.
